EN PLEIN AIR
May 2022

Starting from the concept that a space has no defined characteristics but can be contained by a line and measured by the objects which inhabit it, EN PLEIN AIR is conceived as a continuum between works of design and works of art.

The selection curated by Rossella Colombari draws its starting point from the work by Mario Schifano entitled Petit en Plein Air Gris from 1963 in order to present a domestic environment which extends to outdoor spaces.

"The exterior is always an interior", declared Le Corbusier in Towards a New Architecture, in his book-manifesto for modern architecture.

Our desire in this exhibition is to re-consider the home as a space integrated with the surrounding environment, in balance and in harmony with daily activities.
